 Work stages 

• Using a sharp knife we ​​make 2/3 (240 degrees) symmetrical cuts on the tire along the side ring, we wet the knife in soapy water for better gliding. The tread and the side part are cut at a distance of 1/3, in the larger side, using the triangular cutout, we separate the side part.
• We turn out the cut tire.
• Cut the beak from the trim of the side.
• We cut the smaller side of the tire lengthwise, the cut should be slightly larger than the size of the beak.
• We insert the beak and use the clamp to compress the halves.
• We drill a hole with a drill and, using two washers, a nut and a bolt, tighten the halves of the head.
• We cut off a part of the tire on both sides, so that we can give the desired shape to the head.
• On the larger side of the tire, make marks with chalk, then cut the tail.
• We make a clamp from a strip of iron, with it we tighten the sides of our planter, if you don’t have a metal strip at hand, use a strong rope.
• We color the finished product inside and out. Paint the side rings with black paint; if it is not there, you can leave them unpainted.

• tires with worn treads are much easier to turn out;
• Before creating the product, prepare the material for work in advance, if necessary, thoroughly clean the tire from dirt and foreign objects;
• If you plan to cut curly elements, you should apply preliminary marking to facilitate the cutting of the material, so you will achieve a more accurate result.

For these purposes, it is best to use markers or chalk.

2. After cutting parts and making cuts, it is worth rinsing and degreasing the tire surface once more, and then covering it with a primer, then the product will last you longer.

3. Bend the wings of the swan and give them the final shape, the edges of the wings and tail can be made serrated, as well as fix the swan’s neck and give it the desired bend using a thick wire, later it can be masked with paint.

 

4. The final part of the work remains: paint the resulting product, use additional materials to give greater credibility.

How and what is better to paint tires?

Rubber is a material that requires special handling. For staining such products, use the following types of paints:

• Automotive
• oil;
• nitro paint;
• enamel.

A good option is acrylic enamel, it can be diluted with water, it also has no smell. Such paint can also be purchased in the form of a spray, in which case it can be applied much more conveniently, and this also helps to reduce consumption. The most optimal in this case is the primer composition GF-021, apply it with a brush, it will reduce paint consumption. To increase the strength of the coating, add some PVA glue to the primer. It is possible to paint products only after the primer has completely dried, it is advisable to paint it on the inside as well.
