Corrugated paper and crepe paper, what is the difference?

There are a lot of types of paper, similar names are often found for different types of paper, and sometimes vice versa: one type of paper is called differently. The latter also includes corrugated paper. Corrugated and creped are words synonyms.

Yes, of course, corrugated paper has various parameters that allow you to divide it into 2 types, but this is all conditional.
So for example, the name of corrugated paper, often found in stationery, looks like this:

This paper is very thin and easily tears. The corrugation is not deep and very shallow. Such paper is most often called crepe paper or crepe paper.

There is paper from other manufacturers with the same parameters as in the first example:

Please note that paper with the same parameters has a different name: corrugation and crepe.

There is also specialized corrugated paper, more specifically corrugated floral paper. It is this paper that is called corrugated, not creped. It has a deep corrugation, is dense, breaks with difficulty and stretches well. And most importantly, again, pay attention to the name:

Thus, the difference between corrugated and crepe paper is only in the depth of the folds and the density of the paper itself.

Roughly speaking, you can divide corrugated paper into two areas of applicationwhich determine the choice of paper:

• for simple crafts and design: small folds, thin (density 30g-50g), stretches poorly, can be easily torn;
• floristic: deep folds, dense (120gr-180gr), stretches well, breaks poorly.
