Assembly order

Use a plastic box that is large enough to fit inside the tray.

• Cut off the bottom.
• Place the plastic tray on a piece of sheet metal that is several centimeters larger than the tray.
• Using a nail, make drainage holes in the metal sheet.
• Drill 2 holes at the bottom of the tray at each of the 4 corners. Use 4 small pieces of wire to attach metal to the tray.
• Make a frame around the tray. Drill a hole in each of the four cedar balls, and then attach them to the bottom of the frame.
• Insert the tray into the frame. Make sure the metal edges are not open when the tray is inserted.

Original trough and log feeder

This bird feeder from improvised materials is designed for small birds. You can fill it with ordinary seeds, such as millet, or sunflower seeds. If you don’t have a round log for assembly, you can improvise with any old tree.

If you don’t have a band saw, you can use a handsaw or chain saw..

Some basic nuances. The log used for this project had a diameter of about 23 cm. The base log is a simple flat cut about 5 cm thick. Saw a beam about 10 cm thick for the roof ridge. There is no need to make a gabled roof. It can be flat, which will make the project much easier, especially if you do not have a band saw. Just make another cut of the same thickness as the base circle. It will look great.

Use ordinary vise or clampto hold the log during cutting, but most likely it will be too large to fit into a regular clip. you can use ratchet strapto hold the log to another piece of wood, saw or table with the end of a log passing by the edge. Bird Feeding Rack

Here's how to make inexpensive bird feeder. The author has had this feeder on the rack for more than a year, and not a single squirrel could get to the feed, since they can not climb the PVC pipe, now a proven fact. If the stand were set close to the tree, squirrels might have been able to jump from above. Output: do not place the rack near the tree.

Materials :

• 5 cm thick PVC pipe
• 60 cm plastic disc
• Plywood sheet 10 x 30 cm
• Wood screws

Tools :

• Drill

• Hammer

Instructions :

Put the fence in the yard away from trees or bushes.
Slide a 2 "x 6" PVC tube over the fence post to make it poorer so that the squirrels climb the fence.
Make a small wooden platform so that 5 cm PVC pipes pass inside. Attach two pieces of wood with screws. Note: You can make the top a bit larger to fit the size of the feeder.

Insert the wooden platform into the 45 cm long PVC pipe. Drill a hole in the pipe to attach the platform.
Saw a 5 cm diameter disc out of plastic sheet. Cut a second disc with a diameter of 20 cm from the same plastic sheet. It must support the weight of birds, but not the weight of a squirrel.
