For masonry, solid stones or pieces of irregular shape are used in size, not more than 50 centimeters and weighing up to 50 kilograms. Natural stones can be pastel, that is, have two relatively smooth surfaces, have a round or irregular shape. But today they often use artificial rubble stone, as a cheaper one, which practically does not differ from natural stone.

During construction the fence use two types of masonry. In one case, rubble stone is bonded with mortar, just like when laying bricks. Usually stones are used, weighing up to thirty kilograms. If the stones are large, skirting is done. That is, the material is split into smaller parts, and give them the appearance of a parallelepiped. Ramming is used to seal the masonry, and 4.8 kilogram sledgehammer for plinth. They process stones with a small hammer (2.3 kg). Laying is carried out in layers up to 30 cm thick and is carried out with alternating spoon and point stones. The solution is poured into the gaps formed, and large voids are clogged with a fine stone and also filled with a liquid solution.

The second method is simpler. First, pillars made of stone quarry, brick or reinforced concrete are installed. A grid frame is attached to them. Then they lay the concrete mixture 20 centimeters thick, fill the space with rubble stones and compact it. After a short break, lay the next layer. To make the surface smooth, laying must be carried out in the formwork. Only peeled stones need to be laid, otherwise the adhesion to the solution will not be strong.

To build a fence made of rubble stone in this way is not only simpler, but also more economical. You can use stones of different sizes and configurations, so you do not have to waste time processing them and selecting them according to the texture. For the fence does not need a base and most importantly, it can be built without special skills. Of course, more cement will be needed for the solution, but due to savings in labor costs, everything will pay off. In addition, such a masonry is more durable and will last for many years.
Still, the structure, if necessary, can be moved and used as retaining walls in a mountainous landscape.
