Architects are constantly looking for new forms, although what will you invent here? In nature, all forms are perfect, it remains only to think how to use them. So they came up with Archipod, a house in the form of a ball. Although the house is loudly said, rather a gazebo, but can be used as a separate room.

In principle, this design was conceived as a personal account. The ball was sheathed with cedar shingle, I think so for disguise, so as not to stand out from the trees. And then everyone is wondering what kind of thing they are, they will come to see what solitude is then.

But Liu Qiyuan, a farmer from China, is not afraid to spend the night in his own house. Because it is a small fortress, a capsule created to survive a natural disaster. By the way, Qiyuan built seven such balls. They are sheathed with a very thick layer of fiberglass, mounted on a metal frame. In the ball can, at the same time there are 14 people, the capsule is equipped with oxygen cylinders and is able to swim.

And this is the Netherlands, the city of Hertogenbosch. Back in the 60s, Dris Craicamp won a government contest and was able to implement his project in the 80s. He built 50 such houses, they say that they are very popular with students and local artists.

These balls were hanged in the eco-park of Laos, it is something like a hunting lodge. You can watch the jungle and not become victims of their inhabitants.

But there are, of course, more solid structures. For example, the famous "Ecocub" by James Lowe, although in form it is an eco-ball. True, this is only a project, but I hope it will be implemented.

But this is already a reality. On my left, in my planetarium, and on the right, the project of Gerard Schemeu and Andrian Feynsilbe is the famous mirror cinema, built in 1985. By the way, the screen in the cinema is also spherical.

This house in the form of a ball appeared relatively recently, the work of the Dutch designer Jack Van der Palen. This is a planetarium in the town of Groningen, built using special technology.

I cannot but include in this collection another project, the construction of which has already begun. This is a giant greenhouse in the city of Linkoping (Sweden). According to the designers, the vegetables will be grown in a spiral placed in the middle. The process is planned to be fully automated; plants will move along a huge conveyor as they mature.
