In addition to purely practical functions, like protecting your property, it is also a design element. Not everyone can afford expensive material, but make a fence from the corrugated board with your own handsis a good solution to the problem.

The advantages of a fence from corrugated board

First of all, corrugated board is a durable and practical material that has high consumer performance. Thanks to stiffening ribs and specially applied coating, it is well suited for long-term operation.

Secondly, you will not have any problems with installation, the material is very light and easy to process.

And then, corrugated board is beautiful, and the fence says a lot about the owner of the house, so it can be called a visiting card of your site.

We choose a professional flooring for a fence

marking corrugated boardDecking is sheets that are obtained from cold bent iron. After rolling, stiffeners are formed on the surface, which can be different in height and shape. The coating of professional sheets can also be different: galvanized, plastisol or polymer.

On the most suitable form of pierced

For fences, corrugated sheets are best suited. on the one hand a polymer layer, and on the other galvanized. The polymer coating consists of a mixture of polymer resins and plastic. Such a coating is applied to a galvanized surface and serves as a good protection for the material from various kinds of damage. Adding various ingredients to the paint gives the sheets a bright and colorful look, which in combination with other types of building materials gives the fence a decorative effect.
The most expensive professional sheets plastisol coated, as the most resistant to difficult operating conditions and various mechanical stresses.

Choosing a professional flooring, all information can be found in the marking.

Marking corrugated board

H is a professional sheet for ceilings and roofs.
C - just suitable for fences, as well as the walls of various outbuildings.
NS is a universal professional sheet, which is used for almost all types of work.
The numbers that follow the letters indicate the height of the wave, the width of the sheet and its thickness.

Type C profiled sheets are usually chosen for the fence.. Choose the thickness depending on the type of fence, it is clear that the thicker, the more reliable, but here you need to look what supports will be.

What to look for when choosing sheets.

  • See first thing what quality metal is. Also keep in mind that in the marking the thickness is indicated without a polymer layer.
  • Do not play it safe when choosing the type of professional sheet. Some people think that by choosing profile H, they will make the fence more reliable. This is not the right train of thought, you just make the structure more difficult, and only wasted money.
  • Perform an external inspection of each sheet so that there are no defects, dents or bumps. So you risk damaging the sheets during transportation and installation, and it is quite difficult to repair damage on corrugated board.
  • Check the sheets in the light so that they do not have different shades of color, and are identical in thickness.It is advisable to order delivery from the outlet, then you will not have to carry the material for replacement if you have not inspected something, and the supplier is responsible for damage during transportation.

The foundation for the fence from corrugated board

The foundation for the fence from corrugated boardThe structure made of sheets pierced has a strong windage, therefore, for the reliability of the structure strip foundation for a fence from corrugated board !!! This is a continuous strip of reinforced concrete located along the perimeter.

Strip foundations are made of two types:

  • monolithic
  • national teams.

National teams made of reinforced concrete blocks and mounted using cranes.

Monolithic foundations are made on site, using auxiliary materials - gravel, broken brick, large stones and, of course, mortar. This version of the foundation is better than the combined one in many ways. There is no need to attract sophisticated equipment, except for a concrete mixer, it is more durable and durable.

The sequence of construction of the strip foundation for the fence from corrugated board is as follows:

  1. First, the structure of the soil is determined and marking is carried out;
  2. a trench is being prepared, 40 centimeters in depth and approximately 20 in width. Where it is planned to install poles, the depth of the recesses is doubled. The optimal distance between the posts is 2.5 meters, taking into account the location of the gate and gate;
  3. then install the pillars, overlaying their lower part with roofing material;
  4. poles need to be tied with reinforcement;
  5. the next step, the aforementioned auxiliary material is poured into the trench, this is if a monolithic strip foundation is being prepared. A hill 20 to 30 centimeters high should be formed above the trench and after that, for better tamping, all this is filled with water;
  6. reinforcement is laid along the edges of the foundation and is connected by wire. If there is welding, then of course it is better to weld;
  7. the last stage, formwork is installed and the solution is poured

 Install the posts

PillarsIf you yourself undertook to install a fence from corrugated board, first markup.

Markup

First, markup is carried out, with the determination of the places where the posts will be installed. This is done with pegs and taut twine. The distance between them, of course, depends on the planned spans and what material they will be from. The standard is usually 2 to 3 meters.

Cooking Pit Poles

Pillars, as a rule, go deep into the ground by a third, hence the calculation of the height of the support is necessary.

If the poles are installed directly in the ground, it is better to make holes with a hand drill. If you plan a regular two-meter fence, the depth of the notches should be somewhere around 80 centimeters.

Pillars can be concreted or tamped, it depends on the location of the fence, the front part, of course, it is better to concrete. First install the extreme supports, and then, on the stretched cord, expose the rest. When installing each pillar, use the building level, if not, then a normal plumb line. As everything hardens, and this is two days, no less, proceed to install corrugated board.

Each type of pillar has its own foundation.

  • When installing light and temporary fencesPillars can simply be driven into the ground using a sledgehammer. Of course, this method is not suitable for capital fences; concreting is necessary here.
  • Well pits made using a drill. In this case, you may need the help of a specialist, since the drilled well should be strictly vertical, and a depth of freezing pass, which is approximately one and a half meters, in depth. The pillars in the pits are fixed with stakes. Before concreting at the bottom, a pillow is made of fine gravel or sand 10 to 15 centimeters high, which is carefully packed.
  • For heavy concrete fences, brick or some types of corrugated board, the strip foundation is poured, where special recesses are made for the pillars.For example, if the foundation width is 30 centimeters, then the hole for the pillar should be at least forty centimeters around the perimeter, and the cell depth should also be 30 - 40 centimeters greater.

Preparation of posts for the fence

Whatever the form of the support column, in any case, its underground part must be pre-processed. Concrete as well as metal supports are machined at the bottom bitumenand wooden copper sulfate and fade. All pipes that are installed as support pillars must be covered with a lid on top so that moisture does not get inside.

A bit about choosing pillars

After that, as in any fence, first install the frame. The best option for supporting poles is metal pipes, with a round or square profile, it does not matter. Just so that they do not rust, take care of painting and close the top with something so that the water does not get inside. Select a pipe diameter of at least 75 mm and a thickness of about 2 mm.

Not advisable !!!

It is not advisable to take a break in the foundation between the gate posts, the savings are not so big, and the consequences can be very bad. Because the greatest load is placed on these poles, and if the gate becomes unusable, you will have to dismantle the entire structure, which will be very difficult to do and will not be cheap.

Installation of corrugated board

At first...

First attach the jumpers, preferably by welding, but if one is not available, you can use bolts, only then you need to take care of the mounting holes.

Lag setting

When installing the log, use the corners 40x40 and if we are talking about a two-meter fence, then at each span there should be at least two elements. And again, before installing the corrugated board itself, for the prevention of corrosion, do not forget to paint this entire structure.

We fix corrugated board

For the final stage, prepare in advance suitable self-tapping screws, an electric drill with a bat or a screwdriver. You need to fix corrugated board on the inside of the wave with a gap of 100 mm. To make the mount even, use a stretched cord. When working, try not to damage the corrugated board, otherwise you will not cover dents and scratches with anything. Use rivets or colored screws, then the fence will look more aesthetically pleasing. As a final touch, put an end plate along the top edge, and fill the bottom with a cinder block or concrete composition.

How to paint a fence from corrugated board

Fence paintingIn stores, professional sheets are sold already painted, and picking up any color is not a problem. But situations arise different, and sometimes the question arises, how to paint the fence from corrugated board and how to do it right.

For example, you redid the roof, and its color does not harmonize with the fence, because you will not select the color of the material for the roof to match the color of your fence. It also happens that the corrugated sheets were damaged during transportation or installation, even small scratches can lead to various problems as a result, so it’s better to paint over these defects. The galvanized profiled sheet has a life of up to 15 years, but it can last longer if it is monitored and tinted in time.

You can color profiled sheets in various ways. But many of them are not acceptable for home use.
There is a technological method using a paint powder made of rubber and coloring pigment. For its use, a solvent is not needed, the powder is non-toxic, fireproof and environmentally friendly. The profiled sheet painted by it is made more impact resistant and will last much longer. That's just for painting you need special equipment for the polymerization of the powder, and for this you need a temperature of 200 degrees.

At home, high-quality painting can only be done pneumatically. That is, using a spray gun or a spray can of car paint. Before painting, the sheet must be carefully prepared.There should be no dirt or rust on it, all this must be removed, rinse off the grease with an alkaline solution, washing powder is also suitable. Then the surface must be well dried and only after that spray paint should be applied. For reliability, it is better to make two layers.

Now, than paint the fence. Alkyd enamel is well suited for corrugated board, it is resistant to abrasion and has very bright colors. The enamel is universal, it is used for both external and internal works. If you choose another paint and varnish product, then remember that only polyester paints are suitable for outdoor work.
