• incorrectly calculated depth for the foundation;
• insufficient width;
• not calculated degree of foundation freezing during severe frosts;
• not made substrate of sand and gravel;

 

In general, the reasons can be different, but the result is always the same - cracks. The location of the defect in the foundation is not difficult to find, because the fence will bend. To determine the problem area more accurately, you can use the level.

How to fix this problem? Most likely, in any way, in the sense that if the foundation has numerous defects, it is inexpedient to repair it, it will still be gradually destroyed. So, most likely, you will have to do a new masonry, fill the foundation, that is, in fact, build a new fence.

As temporary support, you can use piles, or rather their analogue for this case. It is necessary to weld the U-shaped frame from the channel, the flat part of which will be the support of the foundation that has become unusable by means of the lower edge stop in the ground. Supports should be at least twenty centimeters long. It is clear that this does not solve the problem, but shrinkage will slow down significantly.
Pouring concrete will not give any result, most likely, it will be even worse, as resonance arises in the structure and the load is redistributed to the already weak foundation, which will only accelerate shrinkage.

Therefore, pouring the foundation during the construction of a brick fence is a very important stage. If the masonry itself can be repaired, then in the case of the foundation, it will be very expensive, it is cheaper to build a new fence.
