For a fence in the ranch style, you will need poles and crossbars. You can buy them ready-made or make yourself if there is suitable material. The height of the fence and the distance between the crossbars are chosen in any form, depending on the site. The main thing is that the appearance of the fence is neat. The main pillars 125 × 100 mm (recommended cross-section) are installed with a two-meter gap in concrete bases. Intermediate columns with a smaller cross section are located between them. Such a fence structure is more practical and attractive. When the poles are installed, the crossbars are fastened, which are joined in the middle of the supports. This design will be more durable if you do not create a continuous line of joints.

The crossbars are fastened in rows. First you nail one in the middle, its ends should go to the middle of the adjacent supports and then fix in the middle to the intermediate column. And already the next row is nailed with a shift so that the joints are on the intermediate posts, and so on in order.

For fastening, you can use both nails and screws. The latter, of course, are more reliable, but you have to tinker with it, which will take time. You can not do without an assistant who will hold the crossbars, pressing them to the posts. Under the screws, it is necessary to drill holes in the supports and through holes in all the crossbars.

To make a fence more reliable, the grooves are extruded in the columns, only it will be necessary to calculate the length of the crossbar well and carefully process the corners so that the crossbar fits snugly into the groove.
