In the country it is very convenient to have spicy herbs grown by yourself. Of them at any moment you can make the necessary seasonings for food, it is tasty and healthy. It’s nice to even look after such fragrant plants. I want to grow them more, but what if the beds do not fit in a very limited space?
If you arrange such beds vertically, then a small garden of herbs will fit even in a very small corner. PVC pipes left after repair will come to the rescue. A vertical garden for spicy plants is an interesting option for their use.
But not only spices can be grown in PVC pipes. Here is an example how to make a vertical bed for growing strawberries.
The procedure is as follows:
- we take and cut two pipes, one narrow and the other wider;
- in the narrow we make holes that will serve for watering; but only at the top of the tube;
- then we wind the tube with burlap and fix it with twine, this is so that the roots do not lie on the holes;
- tape the bottom end of the tube;
- in the main pipe with a distance of 20 centimeters, we cut 3 rows of holes with a drill;
- only the bottom of the pipe should remain intact;
- then we put a pipe in a large container, the bottom should be covered with a lid:
- insert a thin pipe;
- the lower part of the pipe is filled with large gravel, about ten centimeters;
- pour soil into the pipe and plant strawberries. As you water, filling a thin pipe with water, the level will gradually decrease.
We cut and drill
We wrap a thin tube with burlap and tie it with twine.
We assemble the structure and the vertical beds are ready.
That's all, you can grow strawberries. See how much less space these towers occupy.
