How to make a flowerbed from a tire

We take any old car tire from the car, it is better to import and winter, as they are softer and better turn out. The tread pattern is better to take a straight line rather than a semicircular, although there is not much difference.

First you need to mark the petals, on one side of the tire, in shape they can be semicircular, rectangular, triangular. Personally, I made rectangular ones, since they are easier to mark and cut.

To mark the triangles, we take a small board with a right angle, we will use its angle as a template. To do this, apply a corner to the tire, circle it with chalk or a marker, then move our template so that the edge of our template comes into contact with the already marked triangle, circle again and so on to the end in a circle. If the last triangle suddenly does not fit, then you need to adjust the adjacent triangles to a smaller or larger side. On the finished flowerpot the difference will not be visible.

To mark the semicircular petals for a stroke, you can use a suitable diameter bowl or lid from the pan.

After the end of the marking, you need to cut out the inner part of the tire, for this we pierce the hole and cut the rubber according to our markup. For cutting rubber, it is better to use a boot knife, but you can handle an ordinary kitchen knife, the main thing is that it is well sharpened. To make them easier to cut, the knife must be constantly moistened in a soapy solution.

The next step in our work will be turning the tire inside out. This is perhaps the most time-consuming process in our manufacture, you will have to tinker a bit. There is a little trick here. First you need to unscrew one of the sides, then flatten the tire into a narrow oval, then it is easily completely inverted.

Also, the flowerbed can be made in the form of a flowerpot on the leg. The manufacturing process is the same, only the tire in this case is put on the disk.

So that the resulting flowerpots are not ordinary gray and inconspicuous, it is better to color them. But before painting, they need to be thoroughly washed, dried and degreased (for example with white spirit). You can paint them with the remaining paint from the painting, or take a white paint and a set of primary colors, it all depends on your imagination.
