Well construction, of course, is not an easy task, and may even seem too difficult. But practice shows that this is a feasible task. You just need to develop an algorithm of actions and strictly follow it.

So, even before the start of work, the question of exactly where the well will be located should be resolved. If, choosing a place for a well, you do not take into account certain factors, then you can get water that is unsuitable for consumption. For example, there should not be any sources of constant pollution in the vicinity of the well.

If the terrain is very swampy, a “top water” is mixed with groundwater, that is, water that is located at a relatively shallow depth. Passing through the layers of soil, it dissolves in itself all the dirt that is there, but does not have time to clean it properly. Digging a well on such soil should not be.
It will be very problematic to dig a well on a hillside or on rocky terrain.
If the well is designed to supply water only to the garden or cottage, you should not make it deeper than 30 meters: then its construction will cost more, and it will be more difficult to maintain. It is better to position the well closer to the house. In this case, you do not have to lay too long communications to bring water to the house.

It is recommended to start digging a well at the end of winter. This is the time when the level of the aquifer is the lowest in the year.
When constructing a well, it is recommended not to use the largest rings; for manual work, models with an average height of 0.3 meters are ideal.
A small depression of the corresponding diameter breaks out under the first ring. Each next ring is installed on top of the previous one, due to their own weight they will fall down, where the ground is selected. If this does not happen, then they are not installed completely vertical and you need to restore this vertical. You can level it by applying a lot of weight from above.

A suitable pump should be purchased in advance for pumping water that leaks into the well during digging.
As you can see, digging a well on your own is not an overly difficult task. Just this work requires a very serious attitude to yourself. Indeed, the reliability and durability of the structure, and, therefore, the water supply of the site, largely depend on its quality.
